What is the Virtual USAAF?
It's quite simple. The Virtual USAAF is a confederation of associated USAAF squadrons currently playing IL-2 Stumovik & IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles. The idea is
to unify our fellow American squadrons. Plans in the works are a Virtual USAAF web ring, Co-op competitions, mission building teams, and much, much more!
Ummm Who's in charge?
The Virtual USAAF is only intended as an association with each squadron having a representative on the Board of Directors. No Squadron will loose it's independence just by joining the association, and there will be no change in command structure at all. Once the association is formed the individual squadrons would vote on the association leadership for the next 6 months. Basically a democracy.
What are the membership benefits?
Well, to be honest, we are still working on that. But one of the idea's is simple. Let's say you have an upcoming combat mission with 0./jg 00 and are short a few pilots.
Simply conntact the CO of any member squadron or group and request reinforcements. Among other idea's in the works are joint squadron training missions and many other great idea's that are currently in the works.
